Description:
MT-1 (Melanotan 1) is a synthetic analogue of the alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), a peptide involved in the regulation of skin pigmentation. MT-1 stimulates melanogenesis (the production of melanin) by binding to melanocortin receptors, promoting a natural tanning effect and increasing protection against UV radiation.
It has also been studied for its therapeutic effects in treating rare photosensitive disorders such as erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP).
